Sand Castle Contest

Bright and early this morning we set off for the Sand Castle Building Contest. It was at 9am on a Saturday morning so we were in for the fun. I would have loved for Dennis to go, but he got called into work so he made some extra money and we still got to have fun. What is better then that.

We had a warm welcome and scoped out a area.

They even provided a a umbrella to protect us from the sun.

Samantha even got down to play in the sand.

Here they are working hard.

They are starting to take shape.

Building Moats.

Adding flowers.

Here is Deanna's Castle.

Deanna won for "Most Flowery Sand Castle"

Here is Dorothy's Castle with a little help from Samantha.

Dorothy won for "Coolest Sand Castle"

Here is a look at everyone's. To the left you will see a Father, Son, Daughter team of a Prison Castle. there were two Pyramids near the rear, and another that didn't seem quite finnished to the right of ours. The kids had fun.

Deanna gathered flowers for her castle yesterday and kept them in a cup of water so she would have them for today. I think they all did great, and this is just one of the many fun things we have planned for this summer. Until my next post I hope you all have a great summer, and don't forget to take some time to play in the sand.
